  • dexron III universal synthetic?

I got my tranny flushed and filled. They told me to check it after a couple weeks and add a little if necessary, my question is i picked up some coastal universal synthetic blend that replaces mercron as well as dexron. Is there a problem mixing this with whatever i had put in, i got regular flush and fill and its not synthetic as far as i know.

They are closed for a while or i would ask them.

    Any help is appreciated.

i personally wouldnt mix tranny fluids with different types. Some are completely incompatible with each other. I've never heard of the stuff that you are meantioning however; it could be good, it could ruin your transmission. Also, find out what type of mercon and what type of dextron it replaces. there are types of mercon that arent compatible with each other so be careful. personally, id run whatever your owners manual tells you to run.

I'll just return it, then go to the shop and have them check and top off if need be. I was just being impatient. Thanks.
