  • open differential to lsd whats needed ?

    i was talking to my mechanic i wanted to put a posi in and a set of 3:73 gears. currently i have a 3:08 open. whats exactly needed for the swap he told me i needed tons of things like shims bearings etc. thanx

    Check out the install kits at the bottom. The basic kit is the bare minimum. It is strongly recommended to replace the carrier and pinion bearings as well. The complete kit is what you should go with.

    Actually after checking over that again, the basic kit is pretty much useless, as it does not include carrier shims. Assuming your setup is stock, you'll have solid 1-piece spacers on each side of the carrier, so you'll need a whole set of shims.

      thankyou so the deluxe is not needed ? and that will complete my necessary parts along with gears posi gear oil and limited slip additive right ? are those t/a girdle covers needed ?

        The t/a girdle cover isn't needed unless you're making like 300 RWHP.. *I think that's what someone posted a week or two back, correct me if I'm wrong*
