I have already called him and explained what I have and he said no problem.
Seems very knownledge and I thought a lot of you guys have already used him. I defintely will have him tune mine, so, if I am truly the first I will let you know how it goes.
BTW, most of you guys were right GM cannot use Tech-II to go from 3.08's to 3.42's. GM service sucks....!!!
I know they really could. The '97 came with a Y87 pack which included 3.42 with the A4. But, you are correct to get the PCM corrected they would have to use a VIN from a '97 with Y87 pack, which as you say they will not do.
Anyway, Byran said he would do it for $175, and for that I get more than just the speedo corrected. I get the top speed limiter removed, firmer shifts, advance the timing, 160 thermo support. All of which I would not get from GM.
Oh well... life goes on... it's just money, I will make some more next week....
if you are willing to drive to college station there is a guy named paul that works at sterling pontiac that might be able to do it for you... he did mine.
If you stop by the Impala SS board you'll see that rave about Bryan's work. Matter of fact, I need to get the PCM in my LT1 Roadmaster done as well since I put 3.42s in her about a month or so back.
