When you shift into 2nd all of you that have a m5 do you hear a thump comming from the tranny that rattles the whole car? I have had this problem ever since my transmission was replaced. It is especially bad when I rap 1st up to about 3500 and then go 2 second. Anyone have a clue?

Yep, mine thumps and rattles cause my 2nd gear syncro is almost gone. Is it hard to get into 2nd? If it is it might be your synro. What I do is double clutch, thats about the only way I can get it in gear now. It is hard to get into gear double clutching doesn't work. its like the clutch doesn't completely disengage. Which I wouldn't doubt with as much has went wrong with the tranny and clutch. I have had the tranny replaced clutch and I'm on my 3rd slave cylinder. In 7,500 miles. Mine will make a heavy duty tranny *clunk* sound if I shift to 2nd at low speed, but it goes into 2nd no problemo... no rattles.
