  • Update on my Torque Converter Situation

    Ok guys....
    I first went to a tranny shop. The owner went riding w/ me. Then when he heard the noise he was like that doesn't sound like the torque converter and like if it was the torque converter that was bad I would feel it. But then he didnt know what it was.

    So, I left and decided to stop by Morgan Motorsports. The guy there seemed very smart. He too rode w/ me then when he heard the noise he said the same about it not being the transmission because he said it sounded like it was coming from the rear. Then after a couple more times of hearing that noise he concluded that the new higher stall torque converter was causing some type of vibration that was resonating my exhaust pretty bad. And the noise that I was hearing was somewhere in my exhaust.

    He had no time today to fix it but then he said some time next week he would put my car on a dyno and try to simulate the noise and try to fix it then.

    I'll keep you guys updated.

      I'm just taking a wild guess. Would it be cause I took out my maf screen?

          I still dont know what's up. Right now my car is in a muffler shop. I'm hoping that they find something. This is what I noticed though.

          When it locks up at 3rd gear around 1800 at 35mph. I hear nothing. But when I give it a little gas I hear the grinding noise. If I give it something from a 1/2WOT - WOT I hear nothing. Or when it locks up and I put it in neutral and then try to give it a little gas I hear nothing. Any ideas why it only happens when I'm in OD and just tap the gas a little?

            Ok. Muffler shop couldnt fix it. But Precision Industries agreed to send me a new one. They will first charge my credit card. Then after I send in my old one they will refund my credit card.

            I finally hope that this solves all my problems.
