putting on an aluminum ds from stock two piece. what parts will i need and what kind of tools do i need? is the installation pretty simple? what about torquing...what are the torque specs for screwing in the ds? thx.

Parts: New drive shaft, might as well do new U-joints
Tools: 3/8" and 1/2" wrenches, large C-clamp/vice/press to install the new u-joints
It is a very straight forward install, but it was a lesson in persistence. I don't know if there is a simpler way, but I used a 1/2" wrench to get the top bolt on center support bearing, and I could only turn it 1/8 of a turn at a time, with great pain to my wrist.<a href=\"http://www.fatninjas.com/camaro\" target=\"_blank\">\'96 Camaro Convertible</a>

I'll also add to the above list:
Propane torch (factory u-joints are nylon embedded). So you'll have to heat them up.
With that, your local auto parts store should be able to loan you a u-joint tool. That will be a LOT easier than a C-clamp with the propane.
