I did a search and all I found was something about a notch....so where's this cable and what notch is the best starting point? Also how does adjusting the notch affect the shifting?

Your transmission is electronically controlled, you don't have a TV cable. -
Well that's odd...I posted a thread about "1st gear hanging up" and someone told be that the TV cable needs to be adjusted.

That person has a 1987 Camaro, which does have a mechanically controlled transmission, and therefore a TV cable.
If first gear is hanging up, you may have a problem with the 1-2 shift solenoid not wanting to shift under load. A replacement would then be in order. I would have a tranny shop check it out.Comment
