richmond vs. GM gears!!

well what would you do:
gm gears out of a s 10 less than 10,000 miles(has paypal)50 shipped
richmond gears NIB 75 shipped(no paypal)

the guy with the gm gears are saying they are a better gear than aftermarket brands,

what would you do thanks chet, also they are both 3 73 gears

I don't like to buy used gears, if they weren't set up right, even with less than 10k on them, they might make noise forever.

I have used GM Motive 3.73s and they howl. I have got them down pretty quiet, but they still make some noise. They have so far held up nicely.

By the same token, my brother put richmond 4.10s in his bone stock ta and broke them less than 3 months later.

my friend broke the stock gears in his silverado,
he does alot of burnouts
but i dont think burnouts would cause broken gears.

chet i am buying the same parts you are. there is a guy on ebay i am gonna buy my gears from i forget what brand he said aam or something they are 169 with a master install kit. all new stuff

Beware of noise with richmond gears. Set up right or not, Richmonds are the loudest gears on the market. That being said, I would never put a used set of gears in my car.

how loud will the noise be, jus a whine like a S/C or something or something really bad!! i have a system i am putting in and will have that up alot but sometimes i will have ppl with me

The whine is almost all install related. Its also manufacturing related, explaining why richmonds are loud.

If you put the used gears in right, the wouldn't whine, but who knows how the last guy installed them? Once the get worn in a little bit improperly, the will whine forever.
