  • ??? Shift Kit ???

I have a 99 Convertible Firebird Auto with every factory option minus the cd changer, anyway I hear some people swear by shift kits, others say they are not really much better then stock. I want to get one in mine but will it hurt the tranny down the road? Someone please shed some light...

If you have the tranny build then it's ok.

There is some not so smart people putting them on cars with 90K miles on a stock beat up trans. They don't know much, they just look at ads.

If you have a reason for putting one on, then make sure your tranny will take it. You car will not go any faster with it. I drove in cars with high stalls and no shift kits and the shifts felt fine. Make sure you like harsh shifts if you're going with one. There is a difference between firm and harsh.
