well i will start from the begining, my car has been snowed in my driveway and went to move it today and when i finally got it out i noticed that my rear driver side tire was not spinning and was making a clicking sound like it was trying to catch but wasn't. passenger side tire was spinning but nothing out of the drivers side. i dont have a lsd.
can you guys help by telling me what you think it might be and how much it will probably cost??????

if you don't have LSD nothing is wrong with your car....... its working just like its suppose to....

umm then whats up with my car? I got stuck in the mud a few weeks ago and both were spinning at the same time, yet when I do a burnout only one wheel spins. I have not replaced the rear end and its a 95 so no y-87 package. whats up?

they both will spin when your in the mud cuz they both have the equal traction. You have an open diff. though cuz your doing one wheel burnouts. Nothing is one with the car.
As for getting snowed in, you probably had snow or ice stuck on the tire blocking it from moving or you were just on ice with one and the other wouldn't move cuz of the open diff.
With an open differential, power will travel the path of least resistance. So the tire with the least traction will get the power. If one wheel is in snow/ice/mud/water and the other tire is on dry pavement, the one in the elements will sit and spin all day while the other doesn't move at all.
If you've got both wheels in loose traction, it's possible they can alternate spinning first one then the other, depending on which wheel had the least amount of traction at any particular moment. It's impossible though for both to be putting power to the ground at the exact same time with an open rear.
