    about how many mpg would i lose changing from 3.08 to 3.42?

    Probably 1 tops on average. Maybe 2 if you do a lot of highway driving. Maybe none at all if you can keep your foot out of it. ;)

          I didnt get a noticeable if any decrease.

            What they said. GM would not have made it an option on A4's if it significantly hurt HWY mpg. In fact, you might get a tad bit better city mileage because it'll feel a little more healthy from a stop.
