New Shifter help

Hey I'm getting a short shifter for my girl, shes got a 98 3.8L Firebird M5, shes been complaning about her shifter for awhile now, so Im taking her car and getting one installed, any views or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I don't think you can wrong with any of the short shifter for our cars. They are available from Hurst, B&M, and Pro 5.0. The main advantage of the Pro 5.0 and Hurst are you can bolt on a shorter handle. After that it's personal preference.

If you have the time and can losen and tighten bolts it's an easy install and would save a few bucks by not having someone else do it. Don't know if you planned on doing it or not, but it kind of sounded like you were going to have someone else do it.

If you go with the Hurst, either the Comp Plus or the Billet Plus, you are going to want another knob. The stock knob won't fit and the plastic one they give you is very cheap looking. The thread size is the same as the Mustang, so most of their knobs fit.

thanks for the help, lol sorry I meant like take it to my house install it and bring it back to suprise her [img]smile.gif[/img] shes been upset ever since I creamed her in my A4 camaro lol

So shes getting a few goodies for her car...any other suggestions? Alot of people give good recomendations for the B & M

i have a hurst billet plus mated with a short stick from ws6 store and i love it. Short and firm shifts and the stock knob fits on the ws6 stick.

but like everyone is saying aside from the different stick its all personal preference.
