answer? ok i got a 2002 firebird and it has w68 pacage i belive. i got the g80 code but that could have been a misunderstanding on my part. any way its a m-5 and i wanna know ? WHAT RATIO GEARS I HAVE STOCK?

You have 3.23s. G80 tells you that you've got a limited slip differential. Look for GU5 to confirm the 3.23 gears. ;)

Not all 5 speeds came with 3.23 rears...if equipped with the Y87 the rear ratio was 3.42 with LSD (at least our two 1998 V-6 ordered with the Y87 came that way)..rp and that's the spec SCCA uses for the Y87 SSB Camaros

Even those with Y87 should still have 3.23s. Maybe there's a few flukes, but all M5s got 3.23s. A4s with Y87 got the 3.42s, but manuals were stuck with 3.23s.

not true all Y87 cars got the 3.42's there was a thread about this a few months back and few M5 peeps on the board with Y87 M5 and they have 3.42

Just look for the GU code. GU5 is 3.23 and GU6 is 3.42

He never said he had Y87 so why bother arguing about it?

As stated previously, G80 is limited slip, W68 is the appearance package and Y87 the performance package.

ok i just went down and looked i got the y87 and gu5. so guys that means that even with the y87 you got 3.23. so dont question a moderator.
