  • 3.73s Installed!!!!!

hey guys i got my car back yesterday with my Motive 3.73s and zexel-takeout LSD. all i can say is WOW! i was expecting a noticeable difference but not like this. it is a whole new car! i have not been able to really beat on them yet because they have to break in....also it has been raining all week so there are some traction issues. however under normal acceleration it is sooo much quicker. on the interstate, putting it to the floor in 5th gear from a 65 mph roll (reads about 78 mph) its almost like i downshifted to 4th. that brings me to my question because my speedo, rpm, and odometer are so far off, i need a recalibrator. I thought SLP made one but for some reason i couldnt find it on the site. also if anyone could help me locate a used 3.4 hypertech programmer id appreciate it because im still undecided on which on of those i want. i would like one that i could recalibrate for say a 140 or 160 mph speedometer. could either of these do that?

i would highly recommend to anyone a set of 3.73s.
also....my rpms on the highway are only about 2200k at 70 mph

I went from a 3.08 car to a 3.42 car and know exactly how you feel... I think 3.42's is all I'll ever need though...

I have this, it works great.

        For my car, 60mph = 2k rpm 75mph = 2500

          thanks for the link robert
what would the % increase be from stock 3.4 gears to 3.73s?
also could i use this to recalibrate for say a 140 mph speed?

It doesn't work to recalibrate for a speedometer change.
The thing basically plugs inline between your computer and speedometer and cuts the signal down. I think mine is like 87%.

If you do a search on this site, you will find a post by me that tells you what wire you need to cut in the computer, because the instructions that come with it are not for our cars.
