Just out of curiosity, how fast can you all go in each gear? I am just wondering, cause i know my car goes like 35ish, 60ish, 95ish, and tops in 4th. So i was just wondering if i switched to a 3.42 posi or a 3.73 posi when i would be shifting gears and what rpm i would be at when i was crusing at like 75 mph on the freeway.

can't say when you'll be shifting gears; that's up to you... as long as i don't have to really romp on it to get out in traffic i try to shift to the next gear around 2500.

on the highway i used to cruise around 80, but after i got my 3.73s i kicked it down to 70. at 80 you're looking at 3000 rpm; 75 is about 2800.

at 70 and all highway mileage i get about 28 mpg.

according to that calculator my car can reach 200 MPH!!! yes!!

also can you change your gear ratios in your transmission, like getting a custom one? i would really like having 4th gear around .6 or so to cut down on high speed fuel economy. cruising 45-50 at 1300 RPMs would be absolutely great!

anything can be done for the right price.

would it really be worth it though to save a few pennies on the dollar worth of gas?

with the amount of freeway driving i do, yeah it would. maybe we could do some math here, how much gas is sprayed in a cylender each time it fires? how many cylenders fire for each rotation of the crank? (i dont think it's all 6)

Or try a search and see what other people who have done it say. ;)

Getting custom tranny gears is 100% not worth it if you just want to save on gas mileage. It would cost a hell of a lot of money, and you would see little difference.

Are you sure that those gears are right? Cause if they are that means that my car really doesn't have 3.08s, but it should cause i don't have any perfomance rear ends stuff.

how hard would it be to correct the speedo if you go from 3.08s to 3.73's? would it be fixed with a custom hp tuners mail order or would i also have to fix some other junk?
