• auto knob help me FAST i broke that plastic thing

i have an MBA billet knob, it was fine for a while till i added a shim and i think either the shim got in between the threads or it crossthreaded, but i was trying to unscrew it (EXTREMELY hard) and it started to move and then POP i heard a snap and now it rotates but twists back into place, needless to say it wont go into reverse or park and i think i totally ****ed up the auto shifter plate, if there is such a thing..

after attempts with vice grips, plyers, c clamps, drilling a hole through the middle and using a spike with lots of leverage, wrenches and heat. nothing worked, so i sawed that mother ****er off with a reciprocating saw...

the worst pain i have ever endured.....

anyways, the shifter works now, im not sure if there is any damage to the "shifter plate" but as long as it shifts i guess it works... ill post pix up later of my new "stump"
hooray, mother ****ing peice of ****.

take a look at "for sale" ..theres been a few guys parting out their cars lately..i usually find little parts that i need here and there at a local junk yard..last resort would be the dealer..but then of course the price goes up..if it parks then obviously i would do that..but if you have trouble again you can always turn the car off and e-brake it..i wouldnt recommend that on a big hill or something though
