Need new CLUTCH

I own a 2000 Chevy camaro 3.8L with a 5 speed. I have read through almost every post on the SPEC clutches, and I have decided to go with a SPEC stage 3,4, or 5.

My car is modified with a stage 2 chip and 255/50r16 tires, I like to light the tires every once in a while so the clutch I go with Must be able to handle this abuse.

I need feedback on wheather I need the sprung disk or the ridgid disk, I drive my car mainly on the freeway and on city streets, but I will give up a little comfort for a better clutch that will last longer while I burn up the tires. The stage 3 will work great, but can it handle this abuse, I still like the idea of the stage 5.

If those are all your mods, and you don't plan on going with a power adder, definitely stage 3! Its new (relatively) Xpad design makes for an aggressive grabby clutch that will handle power, and still retain friendly engagements without a ton of "chatter".

Stage 4 will be nice for a power adder and mostly stock motor. Expect a drop in street friendliness with this clutch. Stage 5 for the heavy hitters, heads/cam, big power adder, etc. Stage 5 is to be used in a "race only" type of car that rarely sees the streets.

Does everyone agree that the spec stage 3 clutch is the way to go?

Matt (onequickv6) won't steer you wrong. I have a centerforce that I bought a while back and it's waiting to be installed, but if I was buying one today, I'd probably go with the Spec 3.

Stage 3 would definitely be enough.

i just got my stage 2 clutch installed (thanks josh) i havent been able to try it out yet since there is about 5 inches of snow and more fallin....damn New England

hi, I am looking for a new clutch, from what I read I should get a stage 4 clutch because I am supercharged. Is this correct? Is the brand name for these clutches called SPEC and where can I get one. I was originally looking at ZOOM clutches but they were really expensive.

Stage 4 would probably be good for you depending on your power output. If you have dynoed and have the numbers, that will really help you in clutch selection.
