• Looking for a good LSD

I'm looking for a good LSD, it has 3.23s right now, but i'm also looking to swap to some 3.42s, any good suggestions? I have a '93 3.4 liter firebird.

Not as of now, I forgot to say, what else would you guys recommend I get for it to work properly? I would really like to spin both wheels, instead of one.

Z28 take-off is the easiest and is more than enough for the V6. You could probably find a full Z28 rear with 3.42 geras already in it and LSD for cheaper than doing it separately. They've become harder to find just the LSD since SLP ran out of take-offs, but check ebay, junkyards, and other forums for a Zexel LSD. It's the most common for our cars, and does the job nicely. It's a great mod.

Awesome, do you know how much a Z28 swap would be? Also, I have a firebird, would it work on it? I'm pretty sure they're the same platform and everything. Or would I have to go formula/Trans am?

I have a zexel diff. and a set of 3.42's both came out of an '02 camaro and have only 1000 miles on them and are in perfect condition. If you are interested in them, email me with any offer. tmgsix@yahoo.com

I'd look into a rear axle swap and 3.42s... good chance your car is highmileage so the difference in the odometer isn't a problem.

Hey, i saw a zexel diff. on ebay, but it was up to 400 dollars, is that a good price? I'm sure I could get a whole rearend for that.

im 99% sure that a 400 dollar zexel is a brand new one...not an SLP take out. thats a good price if its new for that zexel diff but you can find a new take out for say $225 to $275

since ur wanting 3.42s it wont be an issue, but the 400$ one has a 2-piece center pin, while the take out has a one-piece. all 4.10s and some 3.73s (i.e. Motive) will not fit w/ the one piece... i ground my pin down so it would fit, but if that cant be done u have to buy the 2 piece for i think it was $170 from SLP

moral of the story: if you want 4.10s or lower
get the new diff w/ the 2-piece pin
