it just depends on who you buy from when you buy them... i bought GM gears used for $40 which is probably what the cheaper ones were, can't really see from the pics though.
you ask 10 people what gears they like and you'll get 10 different answers, and everyone will claim that the other 9 people's choices are noisy or weak.
if you buy used gears it's always nice to be able to hold them in your hand and see what the wear pattern was like in the previous installation; sort of like never buying a car in the dark.
