i have an aluminum driveshaft that came off of an 00 trans am. the guy that took it off was hacking off the exhaust first and knicked the al ds and put a 1 cm or so cut in it that is about 1 inch long. should i worry about this getting too much stress and eventually cracking the whole ds or even breaking it? how deep does the aluminum go in the aluminum ds--i can tell it is somwhat hollow, but not sure how hollow? i just want to know if this is a bad fracture point for the ds or if this ds is far strong enough and i should have no worries of the knick for the small amounts of torque i put on it (compared to what it was made for...the v8's torque capabilities)?
