    what would be the best choice ? 3.42 or 3.73 in an automatic.

    I'd say 3.42's if you are not planning on running headers and a 3" exhaust.

    BUT

    If you're going to run the headers and a 3" exhaust then throw those 3.73's in there.

    (if I had a 3.8 then I would do that but that's just my two cents)

      Depends on how much you drive on the highway and your goals with the car. If I only drove in the city and never took it to the track then I'd get 4.10s. But for all around 3.42s are the best. 3.73s will just help you out of the hole quicker.

      Exhaust has nothing to do with gears.
