I work at a shop. My friend wants us to install his whole new rear end on his 1998 firebird. What is the going rate to install a whole new rear axel and a new driveshaft? I called some local shops and they all said around 500 but that sounds WAY to high, so i was just wondering what the going rate was.

Tim...no driveshaft yet. Forgot to mention that. And by the way, just for amusement, I got quoted by the dealership...

you don't have a labor program to look it up? If I had to venture a guess I would say between 3-4 hours of labor X the shops labor rate.1996 Silver camaro Z28.
