Just an idea but, put the car in first and slam the gas pedal to the floor. You should peel out a good 30 feet or so hehe. That seems to be the best way to peel out although mine will do the same thing, though not as far, in drive. ;)

actually that doesn't change anything, cus reguardless if you put it in D or 1, you still start in first gear. the only difference is if you put it on 1, you're car won't shift out of first gear  which could be quite bad for the engine if you're burning out.97 White Pontiac Firebird 3.8 A4
Mods- 2.75\" exhaust, Dynomax muffler, magnaflow cat, SLP CAI, Hypertech 160* thermo, Fan switch
Suspension-Kumho Ecsta 712\'s, 32mm/19mm sway bars

Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration, don\'t fail us now.
-Elwood Blues

Another major factor in what cars burnout and what cars do not is the tire size if some of you have a 215/60/15 and some have the 235/50/16s then the burnouts will be different. I want to put 275/40/17s on mine to help it hook up better so i will have less wheel spin. just my $.02To speed or not to speed that is the question.

so long that traction is equal between both wheels (i.e. no power brake, just a normal spin) you will spin both wheels.
Put a little force on em, i.e. a brake, and the rear right will only spin.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

For all you guys with automatics, you might check to see if you have your second gear start button(sgs) on. This could definately impead your burnout abilities...and that would be why when you put it on 1 instead of D it spins.

I will try putting my second gear button on. But i read that it should only be used in the rain. I hope this doesn't mess up my transmission .2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics

I'm pretty sure he means, make sure it's NOT on. Using SGS gives you LESS wheel spin, thus making for better starts in wet and snowy weather.

When you start the car The second gear start (sgs)is automaticaly off, where as traction control is always on.
I dont think I would go around trying to do a burnout in SGS mods, it is noticeably more slugish when it is on so I immagine that it will not go since it is starting in second gear and the fact that it is ment to get better traction.~chris~ 98 Cayenne red Camaro 3800 A4, 3:08, T tops Borla cat-back, wisper lid K&N, Bilstine shocks, Dunlops all around.
AOL IM: chevyboyz24
