  • Some pics of tranny mount: stock vs poly

As the topic says, I have some pics of the energy suspension polymount, and an extra stocker (1996) Nachius gave me when I bought the (1995)3800 drivetrain.

First pic is of polymount p/n 1108G withe the 95 4L60E (same location as the 85 7004R)

Next two are of the 96 stock tranny mount

Now, as you can see, the 96 mount is offset w/teh flange mounting ears & the bolt that goes through the crossmember. Here's what happens when the polymount meets the (new) 98 4L60E

AS read in other posts, there might need to be some notching needed done to crossmember to make the stocker fit. This is for the 85 crossmember. Can someone get a shot of the 4th gen crossmembers for comparison???

I don't have any pictures, but the 4th gen is off by a similar distance. We mocked it up when doing a tranny swap in Little G's car.

I dont have a pic, but its not off that bad. there is still enough room on the stock crossmember to be able to elongate the hole and use it. It looks like in this picture the poly mount compeltely misses the 3rd gen crossmember as far as possibility of making it bolt up.

IF I remember correctly from when I took out my Transmission, the 4th gen crossmember is slightly angled... like this:

ignore the dots... they are needed or else the picture ****s up., bah nvm still does it..

        edit..again
When I mean angled, I mean the crossmember itself is offset a bit. (say.. the bolts are in the same place as urs, but the crossmember is closer to the back of the car, because its shaped slightly how I have it above.)

I could be totally wrong if I don't remember right.
