Are the V6 and V8 auto trannys the same for my year(2000)? My tranny codes are MXO and M30 if that helps.

Yes and No.
Trans gears and internals are identical, but the shift pattern is slightly different on the 1998's and earlier, I heard the bellhousing was different, and possibly the input spline count.
