i have a 2002 camaro with the M5. almost everytime i put the car into reverse the gears grind. yes the clutch is in. why is this happening? should i take it back to the dealership and have them deal with it? warranty should cover this. any ideas?

This is normal with our transmissions. There are no synchros in reverse. Just put the car in another gear first and then go into reverse. No more grinding.

it will kill your transmition!!! Best thing to do is NEVER go in reverse. Reverse is just their for show, GM skimped and never put a real reverse in our cars!. I haven't used reverse yet, chewed up alot of lawns, hit a few curbs and parked cars, but I never used reverse. My car is much happier for it. ;)
