I am thinking about a rear end swap. I have a 1996 3.8 Camaro m5. I have a few questions that I wasn't able to find searching previous posts. I want 3.42 gears with an lsd.
1) I don't have traction control. Do I need to get a rear end that doesn't have traction control, or will any one do?
2) Is there any way to tell the gear size and confirm that it has an lsd... if I go to a junk yard, the attendant is likely to tell me whatever I want to hear to sell it. (i.e. all 1997 and above manual Z28's and TA's have an lsd... or something?)
3) Someone please clue me in on the talk about 2 series carriers and 3 series carriers. Is this something I have to be concerned with? Which do I have (i.e. stock)?
If I left anything out, please advise.
