Are the rear ends from any generation compatible with those of the third generation? (1982-1992) Becuase i'm looking to just swap in a new rearend with discs perhaps instead of using the existing open diff w/ drums. Thanks!

i think the 4th gen rear end will fit 3rd gen also. don't take that as gospel, but i'm pretty sure i read that somewhere.you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on -
I think a 4th gen. rear end will be to wide for a 3rd gen. because I know if i were to get a 3rd gen. rear and put it on my car i would need spacers to make it work .96 wht. firebird 5sd. rk sport headers,3in.catco, spintech catback,CAI,FRA,3.42/lsd 180*t-stat, centerforce dual friction clutch, ls1 driveshaft, polyurethane trans. mount.<br />01 blk. z28 m6, borla exht, lid, k<br />+n, sfc., chrome 18in. y2k c5 wheels.Comment
