im gettin my rear pinion & cover gasket seal replaced.
my question is what is the best differental fluid to go in there, i was considering mobil 1 synthetic differental fluid but im thinking since it mite be thinner than usual it mite start to leak out of the new seals..
If the gasket leaks, it'll leak with any diffy fluid. Clean both surfaces well, and use a torque wrench on the bolts. Too tight can cause as many leaks as too loose by warping the cover.
I used Redline 75w90 gear oil (no additives needed) and the cheap Felpro gasket from Checkers. No RTV, no leaks with proper cleaning and torquing.

I reccomend painting your differential cover when you do the swap. I matched the exterior Pewter Metallic silver with an engine paint for protection against heat.
