if i change to 3.42 gears and go to have the pcm reflashed for them, do i have to have a vin for a 97 y87 car, or can it be a vin from any 95-97 3.8

you will want a 97 vin that has the same tranny type as yours.. ie auto or manual.. -

I took mine to the dealer and they did it for me no problem. Just depends on what dealer you go to though, some might not do it. They charged me 80 bucks to reflash it with a y87 vin #.Comment

Speaking of Westers, any real feedback from customers who have had work done by them? Was wondering if it was quality work, especially since it's been so hard to find people who work on 3.4l PCM's.

i've heard they do a lot of quality work, they dont just advance the timing like most programmers, they program the spark / fuel tables for certain gas, mods, ect. plus much more.\'94 Firebird, 3.4 M5.<br />Arctic white w/ red anniversary stripe.
