  • 2000 factory 3.73's?

    on another site, somebody posted some firebird trivia, and asked what the highest gear ratio was for a 2000 firebird.

    they said the 3.73's came in some v6 performance package, in the year 2000

    was that true, or did they get 3.42's like i thought it was

    and if it was true, whats the GU_ for the 3.73 gears.

    thanks

    I'm pretty sure from everything I've ever read 3.42s were the highest ratio.

      3.73 = GT4

      Luckily my truck came with them. :D

      I never heard of F-bodys coming with them.

        yeah, appareantly you can get s-10 rear ends with 3.73's and even find some w/ 4.11's and swap them into an f-body, but 3.42's are the highest that came in our cars.

          No 4th gen fbody ever came with factory 3.73s... lowest gear available was a 3.42.

              so are the F-body rear ends and the S-10 rear ends the same? If so what years are compatible?

                They are both 7.625 rears but F-bodys are like 10 inches wider. So only the gears and diferentials are compatable.
