I know a guy selling an SLP 2600 torque converter with 500 miles for $200. Will this work?

This 300mm (11.81") lock-up torque converter will raise your vehicle's stall speed to approximately 2600 rpm*, making for a much stronger launch and reducing ETs by up to three tenths! Custom-built to SLP design specifications, this fully balanced unit incorporates carbon-ceramic clutch materials and an oversized roller clutch for the ultimate in strength and durability. Best of all, it retains the factory lock-up function, making it ideal for street-driven applications. Recommended for vehicles with mild to extensive modifications and gear ratios of up to 3.23.

When it says up to 3.23 does that mean my 3.08 will work or would I need to get a 3.42?

"SLP recommends that you install an auxiliary transmission cooler with any high-stall torque converter."

    Do I really need this?

    2600 is pretty low
    I don't think I'd go with a TC under 3000
Plus you need to know the str and efficiency and what not.

I think your talking about a V8 converter. They do not fit the V6s.

PI, Edge and Yank have made converters for out V6s, so check them out if you want one.
