Anyone have the rear end dowsed in grease and stuff at the yolk? I see oil dopplets from the bolts and the area around it. The gear oil level stays stable after long-fruequent checks.
Its looks like it need to be replaced witha aluminum drivesfaft. Would this be hard to do? what do homies think?

WTF? THe driveshaft doesn't have oil inside it, you're drawing an inappropriate conclusion.
Aluminum driveshafts are nice, you could go ahead and get one.
As for the rear end, it's typically covered in crap like that, from the exhaust, the tranny / engine oil leaking backward at speed, and slight leaks from the diff. Remember that a drop of oil can spread to a large area, particularly when it collects dirt / grime. You might want to scrub and sand the rear a bit, and then spray it with some black paint.
My brand new rear-end is doing the same. In my case, it's a leaking pinion seal. They are fairly easy to replace if you have the right tools. And yes, all rear-ends, even without a leak, after some time will have grime and dirt on them.
Also, the aluminum driveshaft upgrade is great! I put one on mine (upgraded from stocker heavy steel piece for free:) ) earlier this week. It feels a bit more responsive now, due to having less rotating mass in the drivetrain! I give that mod a big [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img]

factory aluminum ones are stable with 3.42 gears to over 140 mph ;)
