Driving below the stall speed just causes heat, get the tranny cooler. that one would be fine, but for about the same price you can get one from jegs or summit that has a cooling fan integrated with it. If you want to be super safe (or you're just paranoid) get a trans temp gauge.

As for difficult not really, BUT if you don't get it seated correctly on the drive for the pump say good bye to your transmission.

Transmission cooler is useless unless you are towing or you have some sort of nasty 4000+ stall converter and you making 1.5 60 foot launches which causes your drivetrain to take a filthy beating.

Tranny cooler for our cars is not needed unless you put your transmission under high stress and load. that doesnt mean burnouts, that means restricting the wheels from turning, from excessive traction or weight.

And it sounds like to me if your transmission is making that sound in D, its broken, probably due to neutral bomb drops or neglecting fluid flush, or perhaps just bad luck.

I recommend you get your transmission rebuilt and take good care of it afterwards.

it almost sounds like there is a huge bold on the outside rattle the heck out of itself in first and second. like when I go up really steep hills and keep it in second it likes to make that noise. or when I first start it up it kinda sound like it in neutral. when I find ramps I will check,
