  • changed trany fluid, have question

Iv done oil changes easy enough. I figured trany change is easier since there is no filter like in oil. Boy was I wrong.

I got the bolt off and let it drain, that was simple. I put the bolt back in and removed the filler bolt.
I had bought a couple shyphen pumps awhile ago so I thought that would work to fill it up. HOLY MOTHER of CRAP! My dad and I spent literally 1 hour trying to syphen that very messy, slick red blood. It just wouldn’t flow because you end up having to make a U shape with it to get it to the filler hole and be able to hold the bottle higher.

My hands were covered in oil. I could not hold on to anything if my life depended on it.

    Here are some pictures.

    Questions:
What method works best for filling it back up?

The Haynes manual says it holds 3.4Quarts but it started to drip out the check plug at just under 3.

What would over/under filling it cause?
