when i start from a stop i hear this loud clunking noise from the transmission. it's after the clutch is totally engaged. it makes about 2 or 3 loud clunks. it can happen after i shift into 2nd too. the same noise happens if i hit a bump, but it doesn't matter what gear i'm in, it can be 3rd and sometimes even 4th. any ideas?

I had the same problem about a year ago. I don't remember exactly what the problem was. I think the transmission mounts had come lose. My mechanic said they were sagging and he replaced them. Pretty much any speed shop (definitely your chevy parts house) will have the poly mount in stock, they will probably tell you it won't work on your car if they don't know much about the f-body. Mine was something like or under $20. It is nice to have, especially with an aftermarket shifter, sicne it keeps your new toy from jumping up and down and makes it easier to find that 3rd gear when you're racing.
