• A Few Questions on LSD.

I plan on getting an Auburn Gear High Performance LSD soon. I think I need the 3.08 Gear Ratio and Lower LSD, correct? Stock gears on my car is 3.08's, right? Also, is there anything else I will need to purchase besides the LSD for the shop to complete installation? How much am I looking to spend on labor for the shop to do this, a couple hundred $ or so?
Thanks.

Please be sure to try a search. LSD posts have been going crazy lately, there's tons of them. There's no need to keep asking the same questions every few days. ;)

To summarize: you need 3.23 or lower (higher numerically), you have 3.23s now, there's several things you need to buy, it'll cost $200-300 for a gear swap, differential install is cheaper without replacing the gears.

I did do searches, and there are tons of pages to search through. So I guess I need to get the 3.23 Gear Ratio and Higher. And I'm not doing gears, so I guess I should be looking at a couple hundred for install. While doing searching, when you get the gears and LSD, you need to buy extra stuff. So anyone know if I need anything else if I am getting just the LSD?

oh god,
please dont tell me your going with anything
numerically lower than 3.42s
it makes f-bodys look bad

if your stock gears are 3.23s and you wanna keep it that way you'd need a "series 2 carrier"
not a series 3

Please don't give out incorrect information. 3.23 gears use a 3 series differential. 3.08 gears use a 2 series.

I believe all the 3.4 cars had 3.23 gears, but check your RPO codes to be sure. GU5 is the 3.23 and GU4 is a 3.08

I think it is 3.23, but where do I find the code just to check?

All 3.4s are 3.23. That's why I said you've got 3.23s.

If you really want to check, look for GU5. Should be either on the door or in the glove box.

3.23 uses series 3 carrier
