Hi vz125dude
You do not mention the years of the transmissions.
The 4L60E tranmission was born in 1993, there is two kinds of bellhousings, one for V6 and another for V8. The internal guts are exactly the same for the same year model.
Minor changes for specific brand cars and models have to do with slightly different spring forces that produce slight different behaviors, like when factory "tuned" for trucks or passenger cars, and electrical wiring.
The 4L60 transmission up to 1992 is the same as a 700R4, also in two bellhousing sizes.
Hope it helps somewhat.

I'm not saying this statement is incorrect but technically, the 4L60E was installed in 1994+ F-Bodies. 1993 F-Bodies still had a hydraulic controlled transmission (4L60).

I agree. Keep this in mind if looking at a 4L60E in a V8 F-Body.Jason McCallister, Founder & Webmaster<br /><a href=\"http://www.wtfba.org\" target=\"_blank\">West Tennessee F-Body Association, Inc.</a><br /><br />2000 Camaro - <a href=\"http://www.wtfba.org/site/view_member.php?ID=68\" target=\"_blank\">Details</a>

V6 and V8 transmissions are not interchangeable. The bellhousing is different.Big cam. Big stall. Big nuts.<br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.streetlethal.net/vids2/joenastycam.MPG\" target=\"_blank\">Idle/Rev Clip.</a>
