I've posted previous meesages on 1870 and need some final help lease...
Here's the Story
My car was fine on Friday, I was driving up a hill on cruise control and I felt the transmission not shifting from 3-4th. Then the SES light went on.
Okay I pulled that 1870 code yesterday and took it into Canadian Tire and my girlfriends uncle took a look at it. He scanned it for free and it was 1870 Transmission Component Slippage. He said more than likely the transmission is going to be screwed in 1 month or so.
Phoned a lot of transmission places, they said they have this in alot in the Camaro and it's usally a rebuilt transmission. Cost $ 1700-2300.
I got my girlfriends uncle to hook me up at Mr. Transmission for full rebuild 1500-1800.
Now the problem is that the car is there, but I could get it cause they aren't working on it till tommorrow morning.
The guy I bought it off said I should take it to the dealership and they might be able to find a cheaper solution, but others(myself include) is saying that the car has 195000km and it will need a transmission rebuilt in the near future anyways.
What do you think I should do?
Dealership or Mr. Transmission?
That's my only options I need it for work on Monday!!!!!!!!!!
