  • Clutch help needed now!

I previously have had intermittent trouble getting my clutch to disengage. I have to pump the pedal repeatedly to regain pressure and release the clutch.

This problem has been occuring more and more frequently. On my way to work it happened twice.

I have already replaced the master clutch cylinder.

It feels like the clutch is sticking in the engaged position. Is this a hydraulics problem (slave cylinder)? Is my return spring failing? Or do I need to replace the clutch itself?

One other thing I thought about: I have a poly transmission mount installed. If I shimmed it too high, would this cause problems like I'm experiencing?

Please help! I have to fix this before I go back to school on the 15th.

I'm not 100% sure on the mileage on the clutch; the previous owner did that. My best guess is 40K miles. Maybe as low as 30K though. I really don't think this is the clutch failing. When everything is actually working properly, the clutch grabs very well. Chirping into second is easy.
