• 3.73s installed, WOOHOO!

I've had em' for for about a week and a half now, but still need my speedo recalibrated (I ordered the SLP thingy and now am using the HPPIII set for 3.42s giving me a roughly 10% error).

Some observations:
- SOTP gain is obvious. Car feels way more like a V8 (reminds me of my '91 TPI Z28). For some reason more so in 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th than in 3rd.
- City mileage (about 3/4 of my driving) actually seems to be improved (used to be low-20s and is now mid-20s). I am now using 5th to cruise a steady 40-45 mph. This used to be a little too slow to go into 5th with the 3.23s.
- Highway mileage seems to be the same as city and is probably around 3 mpg worse than stock. Something to consider if you do a lot of highway driving. Throttle respone for passing is quite a bit better better as a payoff, though.

IMO definitely worthwhile, partcularly if you do primarily city driving.

Glad to here. I hope to switch to these gears eventually. Why do you mod your V6 when you have a SS that you could be making go way faster?

Judging from the stage II H/C, I'd say his SS *is* way fast already. =)

V6 = Fun daily driver. Mods just make it funner.

SS has way more $$$ in mods anyway.

No, I'm not wealthy, just obsessed.

sounds like the 3.73's worked out good for u.... only question is how much/to what extent did it hurt your top end and also top speed? did u feel a big difference (negatively) at high speeds? thanks bro, good luck w/ those!

Its odd that you say your third gear pull is weaker than the others, especially 4th. We just had our dyno day and i had him try to pull the car in third gear and it made less power than 4th gear... Its very odd....

Per BAD2000V6's question about top end pull and top speed, I haven't done a top speed run yet, but I know that 4th pulls real strong. With the 3.23s it pulled decently but now it certainly feels stronger, at least up to the 90 - 95 mph range which is as far as I took it so far (and it still ahd more left in 4th). I would imagine that top speed would be in 5th now. With 3.23s it seemed like top speed was the same in both 4th and 5th (but @ lower rpms in 5th).
