i am trying to find a out of vehicle 4l60e to rebuild for my car. what year 4l60e's will bee the same as my 99 4l60e with any complications of installing.? please help, thanks

Well all 3.8ls with the 4l60e have the same bolt pattern so, any will bolt up. I am not sure if the electronics are differnt for 94-97 or 98-02. I don't think they changed anything in them so for sure a 98 or 99. The 00-02 maybe different also because of the drive by wire(I think they went to that in 2000). Drive by wire was in 1999. I don't think that would have any affect on the tranny though. Are you sure yours isn't drive by wire? I think that was standard on the 3800 in 1999. Drive by wire doesn't mean it's connected with a throttle cable, it's electronic.Originally posted by 99camaropkg:

it should be throttle by wire, as I remember Drew nearly decapitating his finger because of it.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built :rock:
