I purchased a set of factory gears still mounted in the carrier. Can I just install them, or will I still need to shim the ring gear?

You won't be able to just install, but if you put your stock ring gear on the carrier you bought it may be okay. However, when I did that it made a lot of noise, so I don't think it was quite right. I switched to 4.10s in a completely new carrier and housing after that so I never really found out if I'd frag those stock gears.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5

Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.
2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.
mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning

Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'

www.NJFBOA.org
