  • Clutch Question.

Im just wondering after I went back and read about my clutch im thinking the reason why it is harder to get it to pull out "VERY SMOOTH" is because I dont have the ratings close to the specs on the clutch? could that be..

im thinking this is why sometimes it jerks a lil. like pulling out if I dont give enough throttle it jumps some. Its a Spec Stage II Clutch its great. I obvided by the break in period very well. so I dont think that had anything to do with it.

also when driving say on bigger roads with no lights to have to stop at if its curvy very curvy It dosent want to drive on it in 5th so I usually drop it in 3rd or 4th that isnt bad is it? but on the bigger roads with no stop lights or signs I use 5th.

It's because spec clutches have no slip, like your stock clutch you could slip, they are either fully engaged or not.

cool so their is not a problem?

and sometimes setting still I can rev it a lil wait and let it fall back down then go back and put it in Reverse and it will grind not all the time just some days some times?

Mine does that all the time. I guess it's a GM fault, because my old trans am's did the same thing too. I put it in another gear first before shifting into reverse. Works like a charm!

I've had 2 camaros so far with the t-5 and both have ground on occasion going into reverse. One had nearly a brand new cluth and the other one a worn out slipping unit. both did the same thing. Doubt its anything serious. I just put it in 5th for a second then go to reverse. If you do that, it wont grind going into reverse.
