  • Changing 3.42 to 3.73 question

IS it better to go from 3.42 to 3.73. I heard it is great when it comes to taking off and tire shredding. But I also heard that it sucks gas like crazy and you lose top end. Kinda confuse on this one still, can anyone shed some light on this.

In my 5 Spd I noticed a difference as acceleration was much better and it really put the motor in a better powerband overall. Top end was better if anything. That crap about top-end is a myth. You do literally lose top end as you will run out of RPMs sooner than before, but the power is still there and is even more so.

This might be different for an auto.
