Hmmmm.....I think no one responded to the last one because A LS1 OR LT1 ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT WILL FIT YOUR CAR. What makes you think it wont? Both the V8 and V6 are built off the same chassis. Many people here have switched out their crappy 2 pieces for 1pc's.Sinister Six

1998 Sport Metallic Gold Firebird A4:

Whisper Lid, 5% Limo Tint, 30th Anniversary Side Stripes, 3\" Borla Catback Dual Exhaust, Man Fan Switch, SLP CAI
http://members.cardomain.com/98goldbird

yea they told you right, replace your 2 piece with one from an lt1 or ls1. They are the SAME EXACT LENGTH. Direct replacement

um, did you buy an auto or m5 shaft?
(it might matter, not quite sure...maybe somebody will comment on this...?)
Put some specs in your sig or bio. nobody knows what
kind of car you have or what you have.
steel shafts come in different sizes. aluminum come in one size. the end that hooks up to tranny is not static. it slips over the splines on the tranny output shaft. just slip it on to length required for other end to bolt to axle yoke.
below is example of stock/aluminum sizes.
93-02 steel 1-pc drive shaft, fits 4L60E
Shaft Length : 41 1/2"
Yoke Length : 3 1/4"
93-02 steel 1-pc drive shaft, fits T56 transmission
Shaft Length : 40 3/4"
Yoke Length : 4 5/8"
98-02 aluminum drive shaft, fits 4L60E transmission
Shaft Length : 41"
Yoke Length : 4"
98-02 aluminum drive shaft, fits T56 transmission
Shaft Length : 41"
Yoke Length : 4"
Did you try and put it on and it physicaly would not fit or did you just use a tape measure?
I have not done an aluminum drive shaft swap yet but it is possible that you need to use your oringinal end that connects to the tranny by putting it on the new driveline.
No further assistance from me until I start seeing a few 'thanks guys' to all the people who have been helping you. Frankly, your style is getting old.
Good luck with the car. G.
