Well, I was about to do an LSD install and I can't seem to find a ABS reluctor wheel anywhere... I pretty much have everything else but I was wondering since I am still using the 3 series carrier 3.23 gears, would I even need another one? I'm pretty sure its necessary switching from a 2 series to a 3 but since I already have a 3 series carrier, couldn't I use the same ring without any problems?

if you have 3.23's which aparently you do you will just remove the ring from the open diff and bolt it to the new lsd unit. if you are changing gears you might have to get a different ring but I'm not exaclty sure on that part.. if you are just swapping from open diff to lsd you don't have to get a reluctor ring..

When I ordered my zexel torsen LSd from www.slponline.com the guy asked me what gears i was puttting in. Im putting 3.73s in and he told me I said for only $20 this reluctor ring would make the job much easier. He may have thought me a sucker but it worked. Haven't installed em yet so i don't know for sure.1995 Firebird 3.4L M5 Custom Shaved Door Handles, TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Chrome rims, New PPG paint, TA rear spoiler, 2k TA honeycomb taillights, Rear silver pontiac inlay, all silver badging, H4 headlight Conversion kit, RK Sport Ceramic headers, Hypertech Programmer, Rear disc rearend, One piece driveshaft, 3.73s with LSD, Camaro Two tone seats, Custom Stereo install

Just remove the original ring from the open diff. You'll need to be careful not to damage the teeth ... I used a 2x4 and a hammer and had no problems removing it. Work around the ring and tap it off a little at a time. When you install the original (or new) ring gear on the LSD, put the original abs ring back on first, and as you tighten the bolts holding the ring gear on, the abs ring will "press fit" itself back in the correct position.
If you don't install the reluctor ring your ABS won't operate ...
As a side note, if your car is high miles (mine had 79K when I installed my LSD) be sure to replace the wheel bearing seals on the axles to prevent leaks from old seals. I had to replace my seals one week after the LSD install. Was a PITA to take it all apart again! I wound up replacing my bearings as well, with new, much heavier duty ones.associate of VENOM VI

2000 WS6 Pewter TransAm M6
NOT stock
330/346 rwhp/rwtq
(pre-headers)

1998 3.8L V6 Camaro M5 (the Silver Bullet) w/lot\'s of bolt-on\'s
-Ryan\'s car now-
60\': 2.165
1/8 run: 9.494 @ 72.57 mph
209rwhp/253rwtq
