  • ATTN: '98 Blackbird or other 98 F-body's with 3.42's

I was wondering if I could get one of you guys' VIN numbers so that the dealership could flash my PCM.

    Thanks.

Thats all you have to do? So say if I were to get a 99's Y87 VIN, I could go to the dealer and have them flash it and be done?!

Yes, but it needs to be the same year, model, etc. And most dealers wont do it. (or you may have to pay them like $70 to do it)

        I have a '98 with 3.42's.

Does it matter if it has a LS1 engine?

THANKS DUDE! That should help out a BUNCH! You could delete your VIN # now if you want. I wrote it down.

Be careful, I just talked to my mech yesterday and he said that you may need both cars there so they can take the programing off the y87 car and transfer it to yours. He is a GM tech at one of the chevy dealerships here in st. louis
