heres the deal with my 98 firebird ..my clutch was going bad (clutch stayed on the floor) .the dealership wouldnt cover it yada yada yada then i got a zoom clutch from cali, sent it to fl. and now it was installed and the pedal is still on the floor ...and inop ,,..everything was replaced lines bled etc wtf is going on ? its back in the shop and i have no clue what the prob is ..im deployed to kyrgystan !and im really going nuts ive read forum after forum but cant find a stiff job like mine ...any thoughts on what the deal is ...thanks < soldier [img]graemlins/bowdown.gif[/img]

Sounds like you have a problem with the clutch hydraulic lines. Can you feel any pedal effort at all (besides the weak return spring) when you press the pedal down?Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"

how did you bleed the lines properly if the pedal was at the floor??? I know you probably pulled it up manually each time, but to me this would say that the seals in the master cylinder are shot...just my .02

zlexiss i hope its a minor prob like what your talking about ,,,,i hope the shop just needs to bleed the system and then it'll be alright ...but i dunno what the clutch felt like when it got fixed i am deployed and dad is taking care of it ....tdz16 i hope the mast cylnder is fine becouse i dont really have all that much loot to play aroun with ...if any one has any mor input please help......soldier...

if the clutch pedal is stuck on the floor the cluch return spring is broke that push the pedal back up... its under the peddel and cost about 5 buckswww.turbov6camaro.com

I had a similar problem in my 2000
My problem was the hydraulic system crapped out and locked the clutch up, overheated it, and shattered it.
Spring or no spring, you shoudl be able to pull it up, is it STUCK to the ground?
I woudl consider checking out the rest of the clutch system. I don't remember the costs of the work, since it was dealership, I think the bill was around $3k total, but remember this is a dealership cost, and they replaced, pretty much the entire clutch system, clutch, pressure plate, hydraulics, master, slave, and a new flywheel(gouged up the old one)-Eric<br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/mustangeater82\" target=\"_blank\">2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed</a> T-top <i>converted</i><br /><b>14.467@95.45mph</b> <i>$0 in mods</i><br /><i>The member formerly known as MustangEater8251</i>

I just got my clutch installed a spec stage 3, anyway I got air in the lines and had to bleed the system because my clutch pedal was stuck to the floor. Bleed it just like you would for a brake system and use dot 3 brake fluid. not exactly like you bleed a brake line...

happened to me in the winter, had to get a whole new slave cylinder, and fluid leaked on the clutch so i needed one of those to, along with my flywheel resurfaced. All in all $1,080 bux.1996 white camaro M5<br />-Custom CAI, !MAF, !EGR, Hi-Flow Cat, Magnaflow Cat-back, Removed Jack/Spare/Back seats.<br /><br />2.12 60\' Best<br />15.14 @ 90 1/4 mile Best

^^^ i just had to replace my slave cylinder and then a few weeks later my master cylinder crapped out... haha but im all good now but it wasnt a very cheap job... start praying that you just need to bleed the clutch....disclaimer: \"warning.. this post may contain somewhat of a funny comment if read properly... take my comment out of context at your own discretion...\"
