As I read the may 2005 issue of CAR CRAFT, I stumbled across a very intruiguing advertisement toward the beginning of the mag.
Rockland standard gear inc. makes a 6 speed for F-body's that were originally equipped with a T-5. The part # is T56-011. The add says that that the tranny will bolt to any GM small block V8. The picture of the tranny in the add shows some sort of adapter plate on the front of the trans. I don't know if it will work for our cars or not.
The only down side is that it has a mechanical speedometer linkage. I bet they could convert it to electronic for a small fee. It also costs $1944. I guess that is a downside too.
They also have some built TKO 5 speed trannies. The price isn't listed, but I bet it is a lot less than $2000....
